Sunday 11/3 Cemetery Rededication
Join us at 10:30 am on the 3rd for a Sunday Service with a rededication of our revitalized historic cemetery.
Come afterwards for the party in the Fellowship Hall as we celebrate our good works!
Friday 11/8 & Saturday 11/9 Stones & Cleaning
Join us on November 8th and 9th for one or more sessions as we gather together to care for our historic cemetery. Each day will have two sessions: 9:30 AM–12:00 PM and 1:30–4:00 PM. Whether you’re interested in straightening leaning stones or cleaning lichen-covered markers, there’s something for everyone.
We’ll have a hydraulic lift, levers, crushed rock, and sand ready for those who want to help lift and reposition sunken ground stones and twisted headstones. For the cleaning crew, soft brushes and D/2 biological solution—used by cemeteries across the country, including Arlington National Cemetery—will be available to brighten the stones.
All are welcome to join us and help bring new life to our sacred space!
Friday 11/15 Gardening
Gardening Days! We have seven Mountain Laurals to move to give them a better home and to make way for new plants coming from Merrifield Gardens! Just the morning from 10:00 am to noon.
Friday 11/22 & Saturday 11/23 Bench Preservation
We have two beautiful teak benches but they get weathered. The task on Friday is to sand and use a special teak cleaner to make them shine.
Then on Saturday, we will apply a special teak sealer to protect them through the year of snow and sun.
Friday 11/29 & Sat 11/30 Drop in Virtual Town Hall
We will join online with Zoom to hear what you want to do with our historic cemetery. We will be collecting ideas and making them initiaitves for our activities in 2025.
We will be online from 5:00 pm to 6:00 pm each day. Drop in and out as you like and have a voice in what we all do!
